  • how is God spotted?

To some, God is discoverable everywhere; to others, nowhere. Those who do not find Him on earth are unlikely to find Him in space. (Hang it all, we’re in space already; every year we go a huge circular tour in space.) But send a saint up in a spaceship and he’ll find God in space as he found God on earth. Much depends on the seeing eye.

    Hi,

Godspotted.com came from a conversation I had with my boyfriend, who had an idea for a video segment in his mid-week church service that would be called “Taste and See (that the Lord is good).” He had this idea of featuring people doing everyday things and showing how God can be found even in the most mundane. It’s a skill that we think every Christian and even non-Christians should develop. But since we don’t have much resources for this undertaking (at least for now), I asked for permission if I could make a blog out of it.

Godspotting’s a recurring theme in my old blogs: (taguan.wordpress.com, stepiphanies.com), I write it mostly in times when I needed reminding that God’s still near, even in those days when it feels that God’s out for an extended lunch and or was just not watching.

I believe that God– great and awesome as He is– is very personal and He cares even about the minutiae of our lives. His presence is not confined in churches or other sacred dwellings, or in quiet times, or in major crises. He is near all the time, and speaks to us using anything– all we need is to tune in to Him.

I’m not saying that I’ve got it all figured out, or that my life is just peachy. It’s not. I’m still a work in progress– as are you.

God meets us where anywhere we may be at any point in time. God speaks to us specifically, personally. It would be great to know where God’s been meeting you at your everyday life. If you have a story and would like to share it here on this site, it would be most welcome and I’ll post it here in the blog.
